1 Brush your teeth, really really well

Agree or not, when you start your mornings late, you do a really shoddy job of cleaning your teeth. Why? Yes, I know. You have been making a resolution to exercise every year since you knew the phrase "New Year Resolution". It is not surprising that every year, "lose weight" or "get healthier" is the top resolution in most surveys. These morning hours are magical for exercise. Firstly, you are more likely to stick to your goal since no "urgent" items are likely to dislodge your "most important" item of the day.

3 Hydrate

You have dehydrated through the night. Replenish the fluids. You can have a tall glass of lukewarm water. You can also add lemon for a boost of Vitamin C and healthy electrolytes. It is highly recommended as part of a fat-loss regime. Honey is optional.

4 Have a royal breakfast

Your body is starved. If you have the right evening routine, you haven't eaten 3 hours before sleeping and you slept 7-8 hours. 11 hours have gone, and your body is craving its fuel. Again, the foods you eat now are "fuel". Each rich foods. Rich in nutrients. If you cannot do without sweet, salty, fatty foods, this is also likely the time to load up on them. The body is more likely to burn these fattening fuels when consumed during a breakfast than other meals during the day.

5 Meditate

A lot has been written about the benefits of meditation on your mental, emotional and overall well-being. Its simple too. Here's a condensed version: Sit, breathe, relax. No thinking. No counting. No perfection. Just breathe! You do not have to meditate for 30 minutes. Just 3 minutes is good enough. What better time to do this than in the morning before the entire brood is out.

Your willpower reserves are the highest in the morning. They deplete through the day. If you really wanted to do something, you will. Take the hardest most important tasks of your day and finish them earliest in the morning. If you wake early, you can maximally and most effectively utilize your willpower to accomplish important things.
